Not all information is neatly organized into bits and MARC’s, as digital-born vs a digitized representation of an information object has certain metadata inputs, descriptors, and formats. This prospective exhibition plan organizes various information objects from photos to pamphlets, physical statues and toys, instruments, catalogs, advertisements to ancient artifacts in the MET. They are ordered chronologically and their historical contexts described. Understanding what an information project is is just as important as describing said object and thus is key to organizing it and the information gleaned from it.

As a librarian, it is imperative to adapt to evolving technologies to meet user needs. Microfilm technology was once a staple of libraries and record keeping, and now is a mainstay for any major digitization and preservation projects as it has fallen into mainstream obsolescence as microfilm rolls still hold many records. Learning the minutiae of data bits, data storage, file conversion, and older software vs hardware shows the wide berth of technological ability that can be applied to future technologies and knowledge organization.
