Report on Historical New Orleans Collection
In this assignment, I wrote a report on the creation, history and contents of the Historical New Orleans Collection, HNOC, for my course on Rare Books and Special Collections class.
Special CollectionsAn important item in their collection is this Ursuline music manuscript which is the “oldest known music manuscript in Louisiana history”. This was gifted to a convent of Ursuline nuns from their mother country of France while Louisiana was still a colony in 1754, but it was written in the 1730’s. This photo is the fourth page of the book.
